Serge Gnabry signs Long-Term Contract with Arsenal

Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry has signed a new long-term deal to remain with the North London side as published on the official club website.
Gnabry, 18, has made his full Premier League debut after fleeting cameos for the club last campaign.
The former Stuttgart player joined Arsenal in 2011, spending two seasons playing for the club's youth sides before his promotion to senior level at the start of this season.

The 18-year old Germany youth international has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the Gunners’ ranks. He scored his first senior goal for the Club in the 2-1 Premier League victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in September - a week after making his full Premier League debut against Stoke City.
Blessed with raw pace and technical skill, Gnabry signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2012, having impressed for the under-18 side. This season, Gnabry has also featured in the Capital One Cup - playing the full 120 minutes against West Bromwich Albion, having made his first competitive senior start in the same competition last season in a 7-5 win over Reading. He is expected to also start against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup tomorrow at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsène Wenger said: “We signed Serge Gnabry because I believe that he will be a great player. He's nearly there now, and competes for a regular place in the team in the Premier League.
"He has technical ability, he has power, he has pace, he has finishing quality and he can give a final ball. He's a powerful offensive player and I believe that he will be a great player for Arsenal Football Club.”

Kyle Walks into a six-year deal at Tottenham

England defender Kyle Walker has committed his long term future to Tottenham after extending his contract with the Club till 2019.
Walker joined Spurs from Sheffield United in 2009 in a deal that also included team-mate Kyle Naughton. Naughton meanwhile has struggled to hold down a first-team place at White Hart Lane, however Walker has become a mainstay in the Tottenham back line after spending time out on-loan at QPR and Aston Villa.

England international Kyle Walker

Walker, who was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2012, has gained nine England caps since breaking through into the north Londoners starting-eleven in 2011.
The 23-year-old made a great start to the season and the extension to his present deal will hand a huge boost to manager Andre Villas-Boas.
Walker has made 112 appearances during his four-year stay at the club.

Adebayor set to leave Tottenham in January?

Emmanuel Adebayor could be set to leave Tottenham in the January transfer Window. Adebayor who failed to break into Andre Villas-Boas Squad following the arrival of Soldado has been training with the reserves as directed by AVB.

Emmanuel Adebayor could be given an escape route out of Tottenham with Turkish side Besiktas set to renew their interest in January. Besiktas vice president, Ahmet Nur Cebi, has revealed it is the club's intentions to step up their pursuit of Adebayor.

"We were interested in Adebayor in August. The club will chase Adebayor again in January, but it is difficult to recruit such a player," he told Besiktas TV.

The 29-year-old joined Spurs initially on-loan from Manchester City in 2011 before making the move to White Hart Lane permanent the following the summer.
Adebayor, however, has struggled to recapture the form shown in that first season in which he scored an impressive 18 times in 37 appearances.
It is likely Villas-Boas will allow Adebayor to leave the club as he steps up his pursuit to bring a striker in to support Soldado and Jermain Defoe.

One thing however which could pose an obstacle to Adebayor's return to first team football will be his wages that made him refuse to leave Man City despite been frozen out by Mancini and now AVB at White Hart Lane. If Manu as he is fondly called will secure a move to Besiktas, then he would have to face the reality that age is not on his side and prioritize football over financial gains.

Arsenal wanted to sign me reveals Maroune Fellaini

Manchester United summer signing Maroune Fellaini has revealed Arsenal's interest in signing him in the last Summer Window. The former Everton midfield ace in a last minute summer transfer on deadline day signed for Manchester United in a  deal worth £27m and has now admitted he had several other options open to him including the Gunners.

Belgian midfielder Maroune Fellaini
"In a transfer window, there is always a list of players, you never know if it’s true or not. But for me, I knew [Moyes] was interested in me.

"Chelsea? No comment. Arsenal? It’s true, they were interested, but Manchester United convinced me to sign for them."
The 25-year-old who has so far failed to make a big impact at United this term is confident Moyes can help him produce his earlier form at Everton. David Moyes has given me confidence,’ he added.
"When I was in trouble early at Everton, he helped me and supported me. "He did everything for me to become a great player.
"I was criticized, nobody knew who I was. I succeeded because I worked a lot. That’s why I’m playing for Manchester United today."
Manchester United faithful's will have to exercise some patience and hope David Moyes can bring out the best in Fellaini which is to cause problems for Centre-halfs and occasionally pop in the goals in the colours of the Red Devils.

Champions League Day Three

Its another day of top European football as the big guns clash against each other for honors. Two English Clubs take on their German counterparts in what promises to be an entertaining and highly tactical game of football.

Arsenal host Dortmund at the Emirates Statdium knowing that a win will almost certainly guarantee them a place in the knockout stages. The importance of this game cannot be over-emphasizes as it is a back to back duel with Dortmund hosting Arsenal on match day four. A win for Dortmund will give them that push to go for it at the Signal park and leapfrog Arsenal to top the group. For Arsenal, a win would be a bonus knowing that a draw will still keep them at the top with Napoli still to visit Dortmund on the last day. I tip Arsenal to continue their run of form and get the win
Chelsea having lost their home encounter to Basel know there is no room for further slip and nothing short of a win at Veltins Arena will all but bring them back in contention to finish their group as leaders. Schalke on the other hand are fully aware of the threats posed by Chelsea and will do well not to lose as the return leg at Stanford Bridge in a fortnight won't come any easier. Schalke conceeded two goals in their last Bundesliga match, I won't bet against Chelsea getting at least a point in this encounter.

Barcelona face a tricky tie as they face AC Milan in as many times in the past previous season. Barcelona has been in good form even without Messi; but for the draw away at Osasuna, it has been a perfect run for them in the La Liga. AC Milan though will provide a stern test with Massimo Allegri having mastered Barcelona over time and coming close to eliminating them last season. This would be close but I tip Milan to edge Barca in this one.

Surely other matches will provide the tension and excitement associated with football as today's result in most Groups will provide the pointers as to the likely top two qualifiers and those fighting for Europa qualification.
Below is the fixture list for today's matches.

EPL : Gunners top, United held

Manchester United's stars have nowhere to hide after throwing away victory at home to Southampton. It has been a weekend of goals, controversy and sublime football. Arsenal produced a moment of brilliance to score their first goal as they thrashed Norwich 4-1 at the Emirates. United dropped points again at Old Trafford albeit not losing this time. Chelsea edge Liverpool to go 2nd as Samuel Eto controversially setup the first goal in the 4-1 defeat of Cardiff City.

In the early kick-off, Liverpool could only manage a 2-2 draw against 10 man Newcastle who led 2-1 despite the sending off of Mbiwa in the first half for a professional foul on Luiz Suarez. Gerrard stepped up to take the resulting Penalty and scored his 100th league goal for the Merseyside.
Swansea, Everton and Manchester City continue their push for the EPL summit with Vital wins; Aguero proving too much for the West Ham defense. Sunderland's Poyet will want to forget his debut as Manager as fast as Usian Bolt. Stoke and West Brom played a goaless draw at the Britannia.

Chelsea went behind to an early Goal as a lack of communication between David Luiz and Cech allowed Jordon to slot the ball past Cech. Samuel Eto'o equalized for Chelsea in controversial circumstance as he nicked the ball of Cardiff Goalkeeper when he bounced the Ball for a kick-off. Referee Anthony Taylor wrongly applied FIFA rules which indicates the Goalie was still in possession of the ball and should have blwon the whistle for an infringement.

Arsenal started the game against Norwich brightly with Ozil and Cazorla pulling the strings in the midfield. Cazorla had an early shot saved by Rudy the Norwich Goal keeper before Arsenal contrived to produce a moment of Slick passing football and interchange which the sea of Norwich defenders could do nothing about. Cazorla to Wilshere, Wilshere to Giroud who returned the pass back to the Englishman and a quick interchange between the duo put Wilshere through to slot pass Rudy for what could be a Goal of the Season contender.

Jose Mourinho's touching tribute to Didier Drogba

Not every time you find a Coach speak so highly of his Player but when you find one speaking so highly of an ex-player, then you know the relationship goes beyond the length and breadth of the pitch. Jose's forward on Drogba's Autobiography below.

I’m a person who likes to treasure memories, and with them I can tell the world many things. I’m not a writer, even less a poet, but my life has been rich with stories, stories full of extraordinary moments. Looking back at them, I can find only a few special people who I will keep in my soul and in my heart forever.
Didier Drogba came into my life in the fifth minute of a Champions League game in Marseille’s mythical Vélodrome. I’d hardly sat down when that giant with the number 11 on his shirt scored. I remember he celebrated that goal like it was his last and he turned an already hostile atmosphere into a fireball of flares, chants and emotion. The crowd went mad, the noise was deafening.
At half-time I found him in the tunnel and told him: ‘I don’t have the money to buy you, but do you have any cousins that can play like you in the Ivory Coast?’ In the middle of this tense qualification game he laughed, hugged me and said: ‘One day you’ll be in a club which can buy me.’

Six months later I signed for Chelsea. I had found a super powerful club which everybody wanted to negotiate with, everybody wanted to be linked to – and everybody wanted to play for. I had a number of options, but I arrived and said: ‘I want Didier Drogba.’ Doubts and questions were raised by a few people: ‘Why this one?’, ‘Why not that one?’, ‘Are you sure he will adapt?’, ‘Is he really that good?’
‘I want Didier Drogba,’ I said.
A few days passed and I met with Didier in a private airport in London. Again he hugged me, but this time in an unforgettable way: an embrace that showed this man’s gratitude, and the affection he feels towards people who mean a lot to him. Indescribable. Then he told me: ‘Thank you. I will fight for you. You won’t regret it. I will stay loyal to you forever.’ And that’s just what he’s done. His loyalty came out in his leadership and in the way he always faced up to the difficult moments. Moments when nothing else matters than to be there for your leader and your colleagues. This was a person I knew I could count on whenever and wherever I needed. When the team was under pressure he would go back and help the defenders; when he felt pain he would stretch himself to the limit and never give up. Then of course came what he did best: he scored and scored. Those goals brought him titles, amazing awards, but what stays with me are the countless stories we have together.

The FA Cup final at the new Wembley Stadium, 2007. Manchester United: the last game of the season. A lot of people thought this would be my last game in charge of Chelsea. It was a great battle, and then Didier scored in extra-time. The final whistle blew and everybody went mad – apart from two calm individuals. I ran into the dressing room to call my wife. One player avoided the immediate celebrations and followed me down the tunnel. It was Didier, chasing me for a hug. The game was over but in his mind as he left the pitch was only one thing: to hug me as soon as possible. Was he remembering our first encounter? Our second? Or was he thinking that this embrace could be the last…? He found me, we hugged and we cried.

Didier is a special person. And I repeat if I may: person. I could say player of course – and he’s an unbelievable one – but above all, his impact on the world at the moment is as a person: as an African, as an emperor of the Ivory Coast, as a father, and as a son and as a friend. And some of us have the privilege to have him in our lives. Months after the Cup final I was out of Chelsea. As on the first day, there came that same embrace. I couldn’t speak and Didier could only say: ‘This is not possible, this is not possible, this is not happening.’ I could only find the strength to turn and walk away.

Perhaps this preface should focus on Didier the player. But the player everybody knows – the leader, the title collector, the benefactor as well. All these things he has achieved with skill, effort and humility. Didier is in my life as one of the best players I have managed in my career. But much more importantly, he’s in my life as one of the best and most unforgettable friends.Together, the two of us side by side, fighting for the same thing? Far away? In different clubs? In different countries? Or old, with Didier in retirement and me coaching in a wheelchair? It doesn’t matter.

Didier. Always near to my heart.”
